The Sacramento County Public Information Office (PIO) communicates information about county government to the media, general public, other governmental agencies, and the business community. County Services A - Z contains an extensive index of services that are provided by the County. Additionally, it provides links to web sites that have information about County services as well as phone and e-mail contacts where available.

The Citizen's Guide is intended to give a general overview of Sacramento County Departments and Agencies. The County is responsible for providing municipal services to the unincorporated areas within the County boundaries. As agents of the State, Sacramento County is also responsible for administering many of the State's health, welfare and criminal justice programs.

Many Sacramento County departments and programs and affiliated agencies publish informational newsletters for constituents, and now you can read them online as well.
