Sacramento County Celebrates National Public Works Week

Building for Today, Planning for Tomorrow

Sacramento, CA. May 15, 2014 – The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a resolution recognizing the employees and departments in honor of National Public Works Week, May 18 – 24, 2014.

This year’s theme is “Building for Today, Planning for Tomorrow.”  Since 1960, the American Public Works Association has recognized and sponsored National Public Works Week each May to raise awareness of public works issues and to increase confidence in public works employees who are dedicated to improving the quality of life for present and future generations.

The resolution acknowledged “the 1087 employees of the Sacramento County Municipal Services Agency who provide and maintain public works/municipal services to citizens for clean, safe and thriving neighborhoods in our diverse communities.”

Beginning Monday, May 19, exhibits from participating departments will be on display in the foyer outside of the Board of Supervisors Chambers at 700 H St. downtown Sacramento.
